Have you ever walked into a typical office and felt like you've entered a world of grey?

Believe it or not, white laminate desks, endless rows of the same task chairs, and uninspired carpet tiles are the norm in the traditional office.

To banish the blandness, here are my 5 top design tips:

1. Diversify Your Finishes
Bring warmth and colour into your space. Remember, a 'one-note' interior design (using the same finish or style throughout) might look dated quickly.

2. Create Visual Interest
Art, plants and graphics add personality to your office. Consider varied mediums and sizes. For example, imagine a striking piece of photography at the end of a hallway that instantly brightens the mood.

3. Mix Up Your Furniture
Buying the same chair in bulk may be easy and cost-effective, but it can make your office feel sterile. Instead, approach the furniture selection like an art curator. Mix vintage, new, and even bespoke pieces to give your space depth and character.

4. Set The Tone With Music
This might not be your typical design tip, but adding music can completely transform your office’s ambience. It’s all about choosing the right tunes to boost positive vibes and make your workspace feel alive and energising. Just ensure you have various spaces where people can work in quiet.

5. Light It Up Right
Lighting is everything. Maximise natural light, layer in architectural lighting, and add decorative touches like pendants and floor lamps. Task lighting at the desk level should be adjustable to meet individual needs.

>>>> Your office should be more than just a place to work. It should be a space that inspires and motivates.
